I’ve been surrounded by amazing women all my life, and all too often I’ve had to hear them make disparaging remarks about their bodies to diminish their self-worth. This has got to end, and I’m here to help do just that!

Getting Real.

I am what society considers a plus-size woman. I have insecurities and hang-ups about my body. I’m definitely NOT what you would call confident in front of a camera (that’s why I’ve spent so much time behind it!). For years, I thought about how amazing it would be to surprise my husband with an album full of sexy photos of yours truly, all sultry and smokey-eyed. However, it was always planned in the vague future around, “when I lose X-amount of pounds.”

Recently, I’ve been on a journey of self-love and acceptance, looking to other big, beautiful, amazing women for inspiration. I finally made the decision to get myself in front of the camera and prove myself wrong — I AM beautiful just as I am, and I CAN rock it just as much in front of the lens as I do behind it. In this case, I got to do both.

I know it’s corny and cliche to push the whole “If I can do it, so can you!” spiel, so I won’t. Everyone has to make their journey in their own time, and it’s not my place or desire to rush you.
